Lothar's all-time best D1 scores
One night, Drakona came online talking about having played a cool game in "ugh" with 3 players. Now, I always thought ugh was pretty small, even for two, so I didn't know how it'd play with 3 players. But, I decided to take a chance, and so she and I found a couple other players from UF -- Bagelboy and Jediluke (Fsnvacum) who wanted to play. Thorax asked me for an IDL rec, so we had him join in as well. W3rd (Moh), kufyit (tiyfuk), Amaru/kurupt, and Birdseye all joined at a later time. Birdseye only played for about 30 seconds, so he doesn't show up on the score list. This is the most kills, and the most deaths, I've ever had in a game. Drakona and I called it quits when tied, but then she had to kill me to finish the level and get the score sheet.
The Wolfpack is not a clan that takes their Descent responsibilities lightly. I was on their server one day, and someone had the bright idea we should play a free-for-all in ugh. After all, if UF can do it, they surely could have as well. So, we fired up a game and played. I don't have the final scores because I left to go talk to Rott, but I sure had fun for the 117 kills / 112 deaths I was in there for.
The natural conclusion of the last match was to do it again. I was on the Wolfpack server with Drakona while she was finishing up some coding and documentation for the ladder. She was going to take a while, so I thought I'd entertain myself by joining a game of ugh. d0ggY, Quickkill (Creek), Tyranny, and Saber (Afterlife) were there for most of the game, with the others joining in for just a short time. Just as everyone else left, RS-232 (8-bit) showed up, so I played him for the last 15 kills or so to make 100. I show 99 on the score sheet because I had to blow the mine (control-n and "blow mine" in d1x) and then commit suicide to get the scoresheet. I wish ugh had an exit, so I could save myself the trouble of explaining this again (see above.) :D
Sitting in chat one night, Drakona and I were reminiscing about the old days of Descent. She'd been wanting to play Fusion Rats Paradise, but had great difficulty finding anyone who was willing to play. So, it fell to me as her good and faithful and ever-loving future husband to play her. After about 20 kills, I started to really pick up my game and took off to a pretty big lead. Humle showed up, and I got a lot of kills on him to stretch it a little further. I was up by about 20 kills when I went to wash dishes in the middle of the game, and came back to find my lead down to 5. Drakona and I fought and fought to take the lead from each other, and either one of us would go up by 2 kills or so before the other would battle back. Finally at the end, she and I agreed to stop with our scores equal, because we'd *never* finish playing if either of us picked up a lead again. :)
Man oh man, what a game. I had just finished writing up the comments on the first 4 matches when I looked in Kali chat and saw a message from d0ggY, giving me an ultimatum to play him and Jediluke in ugh. Well, I knew I was toast, but I also couldn't resist the challenge. So, I went and found the game in progress on the Wolfpack server. I think d0ggY had about 70 kills when I joined (I might be off by about 20-30 though!) and so I was playing catchup the whole way. What I was most proud of is that after the game, Jediluke commented that I was going neck-and-neck with him in the hallways. In the first mass-ugh game I played, he absolutely trounced everyone in the halls, and in this one, he messed me up a lot. There were a few times when I got 5-6 kills in a row, though, usually by shooting into a corner and watching everyone dive to catch the pretty purple. Awesome, awesome game everyone!!! :D
For the second day in a row, I played a chaotic open ugh game, and this was my fifth overall going over 100 kills. If I was in Wolfpack, I'd have 5 hunter awards for it :) Unfortunately, right at the end, all of the systems started going nuts and crashing. The screenshot you see here is from d0ggY. I'd have taken one, but my system crashed on the final score sheet when I hit "printscreen". The game started with myself, d0ggY, corps (Baked), and KrazyK (klig). Corps and KrazyK both did really well, but left after Blorb and kuffy showed up, citing "lag" as their reasons (kuffy did have a pretty bad connect.) Sirian showed up when d0ggY was nearing a hundred kills, and played valiantly, though struggled a bit due to his modem not being able to handle that many players. I'm sure he was shocked to see an ugh game go to that many kills, and even more shocked to hear it was a regular occurence. I gotta give him props for making such an awesome level :)
It was my second day of classes this semester -- January 4 -- and I had one class at 9:30 and one class at 4, and a big break in between... only, the 9:30 class cancelled. I came home and tried to get a rematch with Alfa for a recent ladder win of his, but he didn't have time. So, I asked d0ggY if he was up for some more open ugh. This is the result. d0ggY and I were there for the whole game, Jediluke was there for almost all of it, and Cobra was there for about half of it. Blorb came in late, and Piggy (Nitrate) played the first part and the last part. Humle and 2001 both played only early on, and a guy named Zorc (said he was ass-something) played for a few kills in the middle. This is my first ever 200 kill game, and my hands hurt so bad I can barely type ;) This was way, way, way fun!
There was a little stretch right in the middle where it was just me, Jeds, and d0ggY. Suffice it to say, I died miserably. I was a little overmatched all game, being in there with 3 or 4 UT's at a time, so I'm really proud of my total kill/death ratio -- over 40%.
Just a random pickup game with clone and coal. Mustang and Thorax didn't stay for very long. I keep joking I should join Wolfpack just to turn in all my matches for hunter awards :)
During one of the famous UF - W scrimmages where one or the other clan never shows up, we had this match go down. The 6 top-scoring pilots were in the game for roughly the same amount of time. Most of |W| had already left by the time I showed up, so I called up Drakona and got one of these big ugh games going. I was extremely proud of how well I did, and especially how well she did having not played for about 2 months. I had a lot of fun taunting Jediluke to "stay out of my hallways" :D

Unlike most of my other games, this was played in Fuzed. It had to be one of the most chaotic games I've ever played. It felt like "hungry hungry hippos" or something :D
I got bored on Kali one Sunday before finals, so I asked Simmu to join me in an open ugh game. It went to maybe 30-20 before someone else joined, and someone else, and someone else. Nimrod actually *did* go for that whole number of kills. Other people in the game included Sickness, Morgoth, Kiran, Primevil, Wolfang, and surely some others I've forgotten. Kiran actually took a demo that made it to 290 megs, and I can't wait to watch that!
